It was wonderfully organized and Sergio was fantastic. He was able to navigate the situation with the train strikes, and provided us with alternate means of transportation always one step ahead of where the problem was. Quite impressive. The hikes were challenging but doable and highly rewarding . The views were incredible. The hotels for the premium tour were first class all the way. I would highly recommend this trip and thanks again to Sergio and his team😀 Ray F.,  USA Wonderful walking by the Douro We took the walking trail of S. Cristovão do Douro. Our daughter loved it and was quite curious about the information the guide was giving. The weather helped as it was mild in March, I advise you to take a camera to photograph the beautiful sceneries that the Douro offers. The walk itself lasted for a couple of hours but we took our time. Do bring a hat if it’s sunny! The restaurant where the guide took us was very good, and we enjoyed it thoroughly. I would do this activity again and I will certainly be attentive to new walking tours in Portugal. Those more connected to cameras may need a little more hehe. In this walking tour, I’d also highlight the typical gastronomy of the region with which we were presented at the end of the hike and the visit to one of Sandeman’s emblematic farms, Quinta do Seixo. There, we’ll give you a detailed briefing and provide you with the access to our mobile app for the walking tour you’ll be enjoying in the upcoming days! Hotel: Quinta de La Rosa or Vintage House Douro ( upgrade in the premium option) ### Day 2: São Cristovão do Douro trail – Provesende loop – 13km, 612m elevation gain, 612 elevation loss Today, you’ll head north along the São Cristovão do Douro Trail, ascending through scenic paths that wind through local wine estates. Your journey leads to Provesende, a charming hidden gem of the region, where you can explore the historic church and visit a traditional bakery. From here, you’ll return to Pinhão, enjoying spectacular views of the Douro River’s affluent along the way. Enjoy the rest of your day in Pinhão, where you can choose to go on a Douro river cruise or join a wine tasting experience. For a more relaxed option, consider hiking the trail one-way and arranging a transfer back to Pinhão with our trusted local partner. Continue your journey uphill to Quinta da Roêda, traversing the estate’s picturesque trails, leading to the breathtaking Casal de Loivos viewpoint. After taking in the stunning panoramic views, descend back through the estate to the Quinta, where you can book a wine tasting experience. If you haven’t yet, we suggest you conclude your day with a relaxing boat ride along the Douro River, a perfect way to unwind and admire the valley’s beauty in the soft light of the late afternoon.
