What’s the main difference between your “Guided", “Supported” and “Self-Guided" tours?

At Live Love Hike, we want you to discover Portugal without the "hassle" part of travel.

Supported Tours: Think of this as having a guardian angel in a van. A team member follows your progress, handles all luggage and passenger transfers, meets you at trailheads, and ensures every meal and experience is perfectly timed. You hike at your own pace; we handle the logistics.

Guided Tours: You get all the perks of a supported tour, plus an expert local guide who hikes right alongside you, sharing stories, history, and access to more remote, even more genuine areas.

Self-Guided Tours: If you value freedom to explore and zero set schedules, then this is the option you’re looking for. Luggage transfers are handled for you and you’ll still benefit from permanent remote support from our team. An in-person briefing is always provided on day one.

While each itinerary is unique, most of our upscale experiences include:

• Seamless arrivals: Transfers from the airport or your initial hotel to the start of the adventure.
• Expert leadership: Daily guided treks with local English-speaking walking guides, adapted to your rhythm.
• Luxury stays: Accommodations in 4 or 5-star boutique or charm hotels.
• Gourmet dining: High-end dinners at the best local restaurants and hotels throughout your stay.
• Curated experiences: Entry to museums, private wineries, and cultural sites (on Guided tours).
• Wellness: Access to spa treatments whenever available.
• The Gear: A day backpack and hiking poles for your use
• Logistics: Van support, luggage transfers between hotels, and personal accident insurance.

To ensure you’re as comfortable as you are stylish, we recommend the following:

• Luggage: One suitcase and one carry-on per person.
• Footwear: Broken-in low top walking boots or trail running shoes (your blisters will thank you for not wearing brand-new shoes).
• Clothing: Moisture-wicking layers, casual evening wear for dinner, a bathing suit, and sandals.

Optionals: We provide the hiking poles and a small day backpack, so you can save that suitcase space for souvenirs. However, you’re free to bring your own.

Absolutely. We believe no one should be left behind just because they prefer a book to a trailhead. Non-walking guests can relax at our hand-picked hotels, enjoy alternative local activities, or "hike in style" inside our premium support vans.

Families: We can customize our tours for a family-friendly experience. Please email us to discuss how we can keep the non-walking in your party entertained.

Once you’ve settled on an itinerary with our travel assistants, you can use the "Book Now" button on our site. We require a 50% deposit at the time of booking to secure hotels and activities, with the remainder due 30 days before departure. If you're booking a last-minute escape (less than 30 days out), the full amount is due upfront.

We use Flywire for secure online payments, accepting all major cards (Visa, MasterCard, Amex, etc.). Bank transfers are also available upon request.

We get it—life happens. Our cancellation policy is designed to be as flexible as possible. Your trip deposit is fully transferable to a different date or destination up until 30 days before departure, and your credit on file does not expire.
