Find Your Perfect Hiking Holiday in Portugal

We organised a Highlights of the Camino tour with Sergio about 8 months ago and he helped us craft our own itinerary which was flexible and enabled us to fit round our travel plans. Sergio was there for the initial briefing with all of his goodies and the. We started on the journey. The trip lasted 6 days and we hiked, stayed and ate at some amazing places. Throughout this whole time Sergio was there providing guidance and hovering in the back like a concerned parent. Many times he appeared out of nowhere when we needed him the most. He had a great sense of humour and was the best and most knowledgeable person we could have hoped for. Thoroughly loved the trip and will come back and do another one.

Approximately 2-hour trail where you can enjoy the fantastic views over the Douro river valley in the Pinhão area. Those more connected to cameras may need a little more hehe. In this walking tour, I’d also highlight the typical gastronomy of the region with which we were presented at the end of the hike and the visit to one of Sandeman’s emblematic farms, Quinta do Seixo.

We took the walking trail of S. Cristovão do Douro. Our daughter loved it and was quite curious about the information the guide was giving. The weather helped as it was mild in March, I advise you to take a camera to photograph the beautiful sceneries that the Douro offers. The walk itself lasted for a couple of hours but we took our time. Do bring a hat if it’s sunny! The restaurant where the guide took us was very good, and we enjoyed it thoroughly. I would do this activity again and I will certainly be attentive to new walking tours in Portugal.
